Department: Operations
The Plumbing Service Manager oversees daily service operations, manages field technicians and dispatchers, ensures high-quality customer service, and drives revenue growth. This role combines technical plumbing expertise with leadership, scheduling, financial oversight, optimization, and customer relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
Oversee daily plumbing service operations and dispatch activities Manage scheduling to maximize technician productivity and efficiency Monitor job progress and ensure timely completion Maintain service quality standards and compliance with Plumbing codes Oversee inventory and tools
2. Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, mentor plumbing technicians and apprentices Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching Promote a positive, safety-focused work culture Lead team meetings and technical training sessions
3. Customer Service & Relations
Handle escalating customer concerns and ensure satisfaction Provide estimates for residential and commercial plumbing services Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors Ensure professional communication and follow-up
4. Financial & Business Management
Monitor quotes, budgets, revenue, and profit margins Create, track and report KPIs including but not limited to hours per job, work order accuracy, technician efficiency, etc. Approve invoices and review pricing structures Identify opportunities for cost control, utilization, and business growth
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to OSHA and local plumbing regulations Maintain proper licensing and certifications Conduct safety inspections and enforce company safety policies
Required Qualifications
10+ years of plumbing experience - journeyman or master level 5+ years of supervisory or management experience Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and plumbing codes Valid plumbing license (as required by state/local regulations) Valid driver’s license
License/Certification:
Journeyman License (Required) Backflow Certification () Driver's License (Required)
Skills
Strong leadership and team-building abilities Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Effective communication and conflict resolution Experience with service management software Basic budgeting and financial reporting knowledge
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Commercial Sites, restaurants, hotels, apartments, industrial facilities, and medical buildings Indoor and outdoor work in varying conditions Seldom overtime or emergency service calls (25%)
