Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Location: Wavertree, Liverpool

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Our specialist SEN school in Wavertree is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with pupils aged 2–19 with a range of needs including autism, PMLD, SEMH, and complex medical conditions. This is a hands-on role supporting learning, communication, personal care, and emotional regulation—always with patience, empathy, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support across a sensory and activity-based curriculum

*
Assist with personal care, manual handling, and mobility needs

*
Use visual aids, picture exchange systems, and tailored strategies to support communication

*
Promote independence through life skills, social interaction, and routine-based learning

*
Support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs using positive behaviour approaches

What We’re Looking For

*
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

*
Experience in SEND settings or care environments (school, residential, medical, or community)

*
Confidence supporting children with physical disabilities, non-verbal communication, and emotional challenges

*
A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to behaviour and care

*
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
