Legal Secretary – Conveyancing

Central London (Office-based)

£35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits


We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our fast-paced and dynamic property department in a full-time, office-based role in WC1.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT and typing skills, with the role involving a high volume of typing alongside core secretarial duties, including billing and administrative support. A strong focus on client care is essential, requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Candidates must have prior experience supporting senior fee earners within both commercial and residential conveyancing teams.

In addition to traditional secretarial responsibilities, the role also involves completing Land Registry forms and SDLT returns, carrying out searches, and handling general administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and invoicing.


The Role

You’ll provide high-level secretarial support within the property team, including:

  • Audio typing and document production
  • Billing, invoicing and basic accounting tasks
  • Preparing legal documentation (including Land Registry forms and SDLT returns)
  • Supporting fee earners and managing administrative workflows
  • Delivering excellent client care with strong attention to detail


What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Legal Secretary / Conveyancing Secretary / Legal Assistant
  • At least 2 years’ conveyancing experience (residential or commercial)
  • Proven billing and invoicing experience
  • Strong IT and typing skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage a busy workload


⏰ Working Hours

  • 9:00am – 5:00pm or
  • 9:30am – 5:30pm
