Job Description

Gain first-hand experience in international commercial law and discover what a trainee solicitor role is really like. Over three structured weeks, you will work on live client matters, build core legal skills and explore whether a career in law is the right next step.


This scheme is the primary route to securing a Trainee Associate Programme offer with the firm.


Key Criteria

We welcome applications from:

  • Second-year students on a three-year undergraduate degree (any subject)
  • Second or third-year students on a four-year degree (any subject)


What you’ll do

During your placement, you will:

  • Sit within a legal practice team and support live matters
  • Contribute to research, drafting and client-related work
  • Learn how lawyers apply legal expertise and innovation to complex issues
  • Attend skills workshops and learning sessions designed for early careers
  • Network with Partners, Associates and Trainees
  • Join social events, clubs and internal networks
  • Receive ongoing supervision, guidance and feedback

You will gain meaningful insight into the firm’s work, culture and expectations.


Training & support

You will be supported through:

  • A trainee buddy for everyday guidance
  • Supervision from qualified lawyers
  • Insight into training and development routes into qualification
  • Structured feedback to help you improve throughout the scheme

This environment allows you to build confidence and ask questions openly.


Reward

  • £515 per week paid placement
  • 50% paid two weeks before start and remainder during week one
  • Accommodation and bursary support available for eligible candidates

You should demonstrate:

  • On track for a 2:1 or above (or strong international equivalent)
  • Interest in commercial law and motivation to learn
  • Strong written communication and analytical skills
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a professional environment
  • Ability to fully commit to the in-person London scheme dates
