About Us Grwp Llandrillo Menai was established in 2012 as a result of mergers between Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor. It employs 2,000 staff and delivers courses to around 21,000 students, including over 1,500 higher education students, across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd. Job Purpose The Construction and Engineering Department at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor is a forward-thinking department offering courses in a range of disciplines. Teaching and learning take place with access to industry standard equipment and in modern facilities. Within the department, we have two sites; Hafan (Pwllheli) and CaMDA (Dolgellau), which both deliver Engineering qualifications. We are looking for a full-time member of staff to join the Engineering side of the department; and we are willing to take on a keen and enthusiastic person who has experience in related fields such as product design / design and technology / physics / STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and upskill them within the College. We are interested in applicants transferring from industry or from KS4/5 teaching, or any other suitable professional background. We have an experienced and highly skilled team of engineering lecturers and are seeking a candidate whose knowledge and expertise will complement and add further value to the team.We currently deliver both Pearson BTEC National and Extended Diploma Level 3 as a two year programme along with the Pearson HNC Level 4 in General Engineering qualification. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high standards of teaching and learning and give ongoing support, advice and guidance to students that promotes success. We would like to work with you to develop your skills to offer the best experience to learners, and to help move the department forwards. The post is based in Dolgellau, with up to two days per week in Pwllheli. Key expectations of the role: 1. To provide high quality teaching, to create effective opportunities for learning and to enable all learners to achieve to the best of their ability. 2. Provide excellent extracurricular experiences for our learners. 3. Maintain the high standards of the provision with the support given to the learners. 4. Ensure that the Grwps policies and procedures are followed. 5. Supporting learners to succeed in order to achieve their targets or higher, challenging and stretchingour learners. Contract type - Permanent Weekly hours - 37 hours per week. 835 hours annual teaching time 24 to 26 hours teaching per week. Up to 5 hours per week working off site in agreement with manager.
