Learning Support Assistant - Northampton\n Location: Northampton\n Start Date: ASAP or January 2026\n Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term or Permanent\n Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)\n\nDo you have a passion for supporting young people with additional needs and helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom?\n\nWe are delighted to be partnering with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Northampton who are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to join their teams as soon as possible or from January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed, caring, and eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN).\n\nWhether you're experienced in school support or looking to take your first step into the education sector, this role offers invaluable experience and the chance to positively influence a young person's future.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n\nProviding one-to-one and small group support for students with a variety of additional needs\n\nAssisting teachers with differentiated tasks, classroom routines, and resource preparation\n\nSupporting students with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, SEMH needs, and other SEN\n\nEncouraging pupils to develop confidence, independence, and engagement in learning\n\nPromoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing across the school day\n\nHelping create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment\n\nWe're Looking For Someone Who\n\nIs passionate about helping young people succeed, particularly those with SEN\n\nHas a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to learning support\n\nCommunicates clearly and builds strong, positive relationships with students and staff\n\nIs reliable, adaptable, and works well within a team\n\nIdeally has experience in education, care, youth work, or SEN support (not essential)\n\nShows enthusiasm for learning new skills and developing within a school role\n\nWhat You'll Gain in Return\n\nA long-term role with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position\n\nThe chance to work in friendly, well-supported Northampton schools\n\nCompetitive weekly pay, with pay-to-scale options where applicable\n\nFree access to over 2,500 CPD-accredited courses via Tradewind's National College platform, including Autism Awareness, Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, Mental Health in Schools, and more\n\nContinuous guidance and support from an experienced team of education consultants\n\nClear pathways into future careers such as teaching, SEN specialism, behaviour mentoring, or educational therapy\n\nIf you're ready to make a positive impact in Northampton's schools ASAP or from January 2026, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nApply today to discover Learning Support Assistant opportunities across Northampton
