Learning Support Assistant - BSL Experience Required | Scunthorpe | Academics

Are you a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant with experience in British Sign Language (BSL)? Academics is currently recruiting for a skilled Learning Support Assistant to support students in the Scunthorpe area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed Learning Support Assistant who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working closely with students who require communication support, using BSL to enhance learning and inclusion within the classroom. The ideal Learning Support Assistant will be patient, adaptable, and confident in supporting both academic and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support as a Learning Support Assistant
  • Use British Sign Language to communicate effectively with students
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
  • Support students' social and emotional wellbeing as a Learning Support Assistant
  • Help create an inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a Learning Support Assistant
  • Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL)
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (please note, we do not offer sponsorships)
