1:1 Learning Support Assistant / LSA (ASD)Mainstream Primary School Weston-super-MareStart: ASAP / After February Half TermFull-Time | Until End of Academic Year (with potential to continue)£90£110 per day (depending on experience)Were working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Weston-super-Mare who are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant / LSA to support a pupil with Autism (ASD) and some associated challenging behaviour.This is a rewarding role in a supportive school that takes inclusion seriously. The child requires consistency, patience and someone confident in setting clear boundaries while building a positive, trusting relationship.Youll be working closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider support staff to help the pupil access learning, manage emotions and feel secure within the school environment.The role will involve:Providing 1:1 support within the classroomSupporting emotional regulation and behaviour managementAdapting learning tasks to meet individual needsImplementing strategies from EHCP targetsLiaising with staff and parents where appropriateThe school is looking for someone who:Has experience supporting children with ASDIs confident managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistentlyHas knowledge or experience of ABA, PECS and/or Makaton (highly desirable)Is patient, resilient and proactiveCan build strong, positive relationshipsWorks well as part of a teamTeam Teach or similar behaviour management training would be beneficial but isnt essential.The school has a supportive SEN team in place and values staff who are committed and reliable.
