A mainstream primary school in Middlesbrough is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis, providing targeted support to a Year 4 pupil with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs.

This role requires a calm, resilient, and consistent practitioner who can support both learning and emotional regulation, helping the pupil to access the curriculum and remain positively engaged throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom

Support the implementation of strategies to manage behaviour and emotional regulation

Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals

Support academic progress and social development

Maintain clear communication with the school team regarding progress and concerns

Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Requirements:

Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly ASD and ADHD

Experience managing or supporting behavioural needs in a primary setting

A patient, consistent, and proactive approach

Ability to commit to a full-time, long-term role from January

A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within schools
