Job Title: Learning Support Assistant- Social and Emotional Mental Health / Behavioural needs Location: Nuneaton Salary Scale: £90 - 95 a day Contract type: Day to Day Cover, Short and Long Term - starting ASAP

We are currently seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEMH/SLD provision in Nuneaton. As a Teaching Assistant in our provision, you will have the opportunity to use restorative practices to support our students in their social and emotional development.

In your role as a Teaching Assistant, you will focus on building these relationships in the first weeks, while also displaying your academic potential and social maturity.

About the role:

Providing 1:1 behaviour support to pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN requirements including SLD and PMLD. Implementing appropriate structures to manage challenging behaviour, always being pro-active and engaging. Acting like a positive role model and providing nurture support Providing numeracy and literacy booster sessions out of the classroom De-escalating heightened and volatile situations. You will be supporting across Primary ages between 11 to 19 years old. Personal care is mandatory within this school. Resilience and adaptability to deal with a variety of emotional and behavioural challenges. The ideal candidate should have experience working with challenging behaviour in an education or Support setting.

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check – Must be on the update service. (We can assist you with a DBS if you do not have one) 2x References are a must in order to clear your file with GSL.
