We are looking for a Learning & Development Manager who understands that training is not delivered from a classroom alone. It happens on the floor, in real time, through observation, conversation and coaching.
This role requires someone who is present, visible and confident within the operation. You will work alongside teams, support managers and ensure that service standards are not only understood but consistently delivered.
A strong knowledge of Forbes and LQA standards is essential. More importantly, the ability to translate these standards into practical, meaningful training on the floor is key. This is about helping people understand why standards matter and supporting them to bring them to life naturally.
What you will be responsible for:
Leading and delivering learning and development across the hotel in a way that is practical, consistent and relevant
Embedding Forbes and LQA standards through hands-on, on-the-floor coaching and structured training
Supporting managers in developing their teams through coaching, feedback and clear development plans
Designing and delivering training programmes covering service excellence, communication, leadership and personal development
Organising and coordinating external training programmes and partnerships, ensuring quality and alignment with our culture
Maintaining strong relationships with external providers, training partners and industry bodies
Supporting succession planning by identifying potential and developing future leaders
Ensuring learning is accessible across all departments, including night teams, adapting schedules where needed
Being consistently present within the operation to observe, support and identify development opportunities
What we are looking for:
Experience delivering training within a luxury hospitality environment
A hands-on approach, confident working on the floor and engaging with teams at all levels
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives and external programmes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships across the business and with external partners
A coaching mindset, someone who listens, challenges and supports people to grow
High attention to detail and a clear understanding of what quality looks like in a luxury environment
Someone who believes in building culture, not just delivering training
