Principal/Lead Electrical Engineer \n\nAre you an experienced electrical engineer ready to take on a leadership role in major infrastructure projects? We are seeking a highly skilled Principal/Lead Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic MEPHFC Design Team, focusing on Tunnels & Highways projects in the UK and internationally.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nAs a senior member of the team, you will:\n\nLead and manage a small team of engineers.\n\nAct as the technical authority for electrical power-related matters.\n\nDeliver HV, LV, and electrical building services designs, including reports, specifications, single line diagrams, layouts, calculations, and protection schemes.\n\nOversee design development from feasibility through to as-built stage.\n\nEnsure compliance with CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.\n\nConduct design reviews and support design assurance processes.\n\nMentor and upskill engineers, fostering a "right first time" culture.\n\nProvide on-site design support during construction and testing phases.\n\nPrepare progress reports and present to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.\n\nPerson Specification\n\nEssential:\n\nDegree in Electrical Engineering.\n\nChartered Engineer status (Engineering Council registration).\n\nSubject matter expertise in HV, LV, and electrical building services design.\n\nMinimum 15 years' industry experience.\n\nStrong knowledge of British Standards and Regulations.\n\nProven leadership and mentoring skills.\n\nExcellent communication, organisation, and collaboration abilities.\n\nProficiency with engineering software tools (ETAP, Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux/Relux).\n\nRight to work in the UK.\n\nDesirable:\n\nExperience with RIBA design stages and multi-disciplinary coordination.\n\nFamiliarity with BIM and 3D modelling.\n\nKnowledge of NEC contracts and project communications.\n\nStrong commercial awareness and understanding of project scopes.\n\nWhat's in it for You\n\nCompetitive salary with annual bonus.\n\nFlexible working arrangements.\n\n27 days' annual leave (rising to 29) plus bank holidays.\n\nPrivate medical insurance (individual or family)
