Lead Systems Engineer
Salary: up to £63K
Hybrid: 3 days in the office in Clevedon, and 2 days working from home
Apply Systems Engineering for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Operationally, the role will span from concept to customer commissioning and field trials, through the application of best-practice systems engineering working to ensure on time delivery, within budget and to specification.
• Work at the core of the engineering and product development teams using Systems Engineering tools and methods to bring clarity from ambiguity. • Translate product vision into clear and concise Requirements using Systems Engineering process such as Use Cases, Context Diagrams, Architectures and more. • Use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to develop Functional, Logical, and Behavioural architectures to understand the operations and flow of the System. • Work collaboratively with and effectively influence all engineering teams to clarify work packages, manage trade-off studies, and resolve engineering issues. • Lead and coach a growing core team of Systems Engineers of all levels of expertise to continue their development towards being a Lead SE themselves. • Contribute to the Systems Engineering process development and ethos and it’s integration into the wider company, educating other employees in Systems Engineering to resolve technical challenges. • Have the ability to collaborate across multiple cross functional teams.
Requirements
• More than 5 years’ experience of practical application of best-practice Systems Engineering in a relatable engineering industry • Experience and understanding of working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry such as the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry including product safety and compliance to applicable standards • Systems Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Must have excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels • Able to take ownership and control of a situation and bring people with them even though they may not be direct reports • High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset, able to set the standard, and hold people accountable to deliver
• Chartered Engineer or working towards (desirable) • Associated Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) qualified (desirable)
