Lead Planner PSC role at Wood – supporting a portfolio of high‑profile EPCm projects in the UK. Hybrid working with three days in a Hub office, preferably based in Aberdeen (applications from Glasgow, Stockton, Staines also considered). 12‑month contract on a limited company basis with IR35. Applicants must pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. The Role The Lead Planner will be accountable for the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they meet required detail, accuracy and contractual standards, following Wood policies and procedures. Responsibilities
Production of Engineering Histograms and S‑curves. Production of periodic Progress Reports by discipline. Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man‑hour budgets. Participate in schedule risk analysis as required. Lead and participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews. Act as planning focal point for specific project scopes. Review and maintain planning control structures aligned with approved WBS. Maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software. Monitor and control planning activities throughout the project lifecycle. Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions and third parties. Analyse and issue project progress and performance status reports. Review and analyse updates to project plans and schedules. Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications. Monitor overall project progress status and evaluate performance against planned targets. Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required.
Qualifications
Typically requires ISCED level 6 (BSc) in a relevant technical or business discipline. Strong understanding of cost management, change control, planning and risk analysis. Significant prior experience in a senior planning role. Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software, including logic, CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling. Advanced knowledge of project execution procedures for scheduling. Understanding of EPCm cost management. Capability to manage planning across a framework. Drive standardisation, consistency and best practice to achieve performance excellence.
