Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Electronics Engineer to take technical ownership of electronic hardware design across a suite of complex industrial products. This includes architecture definition, circuit design, PCB layout oversight, prototyping, testing, and guiding engineers in the delivery of high‑quality, reliable electronics for real‑time embedded systems.
The role is highly technical and best suited to someone who enjoys leading design decisions, solving complex hardware challenges, and working closely with embedded software, mechanical engineering, and systems engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Electronics Architecture & Technical Leadership

Own the electronics architecture for new and existing product lines.
Lead schematic design, block diagrams, and system‑level hardware architecture.
Provide technical direction to electronics engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Drive design reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.

Circuit Design & Development

Design analogue and digital circuits for sensing, control, power sequencing, and communication.
Develop robust electronics that interface with embedded processors, sensors, motor drives, and power systems.
Specify components, evaluate alternatives, and design for manufacturability, testability, and longevity.

PCB Design Oversight

Lead PCB layout definition and constraints (signal integrity, EMC, thermal, spacing).
Work with internal or external PCB designers to ensure high‑quality layouts.
Validate prototypes and support the full bring‑up process.

Testing, Verification & Compliance

Perform hands‑on debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers, etc.
Lead EMC/EMI test planning, root‑cause investigations, and compliance improvements.
Ensure designs meet safety and industrial standards (CE, UL, IEC, ISO depending on product).

Collaboration & Mentoring

Work closely with embedded software teams to deliver tightly integrated hardware/firmware solutions.
Mentor junior and mid‑level hardware engineers.
Contribute to technology roadmaps and long‑term hardware strategy.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

Strong experience leading the design of analogue and digital electronics for embedded systems.
Expertise with microcontroller‑based systems (ARM/STM32 or similar).
Strong understanding of circuits involving:
Power supplies / DC‑DC converters
Motor control / drivers
Sensors and signal conditioning
Communication buses (CAN, SPI, I²C, RS485, UART)
Experience reviewing and guiding PCB layout (Altium, KiCad, Mentor, etc.).
Strong debugging skills on both prototypes and mature products.
Understanding of EMC, EMI, grounding strategies, filtering, shielding.
Experience with full product development lifecycle in an industrial environment.

Desirable

Experience in industrial, vacuum, robotics, automation, or electro‑mechanical machinery.
Familiarity with regulatory standards (IEC 61010, IEC 61000‑x, UL).
Experience with reliability engineering or design for harsh environments.
Understanding of safety‑critical electronics.
Knowledge of FPGA or CPLD devices (not mandatory but valuable).
Experience collaborating closely with embedded software teams.
