This is a hands-on, leadership-level role for someone who wants to make a real impact.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\nLeading end-to-end electronics projects: hardware, firmware, embedded systems, and control.\nTaking ownership of designs from concept through to delivery and customer integration.\nMentoring junior engineers and apprentices, helping shape the next of talent.\nInterfacing directly with customers to gather requirements and troubleshoot in the real world.\nDriving technical decisions, risk assessments, and project planning.\n\nYou’ll be supported by a skilled and collaborative team, but you’ll also have the autonomy to lead, design, and deliver in your own style.\n\nWhat’s in It for You\n\nCompetitive Salary: £40k–£50k depending on experience.\nWork-Life Balance: 37-hour week with a Friday lunchtime finish.\nTime Off: 28 days’ holiday (including bank holidays), with 3 reserved for Christmas.\nRoom to Grow: Influence projects, innovate solutions, and take real ownership.\nTech You’ll Care About: Work on legacy systems and bleeding-edge electronics, often on the same day.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n\nEssential\n\nStrong hands-on electronics experience across hardware and firmware.\nConfident working with high voltages, power systems, and risk-sensitive environments.\nAble to balance multiple complex projects with real-world constraints.\nExcellent communicator- comfortable talking tech with engineers or project goals with clients.\nA calm, capable leader who can guide and develop junior team members.\n\nDesirable (but not essential)\n\nIf you tick some of these, you're already ahead of the pack:\n\nEmbedded C/C++/Python development (8- or 32-bit targets).\nFirmware standards (MISRA) and debugging tools (JTAG, SWD).\nPCB layout (e.g., KiCad), SPICE simulation, or high-speed digital design.\nExperience with mission-critical or ruggedised equipment (rail, defence, aerospace).\nStrong workshop/lab skills; soldering, harness building, machining, etc.\n\nWhy You\n\nBecause you’re not just looking for a job, you’re looking for a role where you can build, mentor, and solve real engineering challenges with freedom and support.
