The Opportunity
Due to increased project demand, our client is currently seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer with significant experience in high-voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure to join our growing team. This role involves delivering electrical design solutions across a variety of energy transmission and distribution projects, including:

• Primary Systems – HV substations (400kV and above)
• Secondary Systems – Protection & control systems
• Linear Assets – Overhead lines (OHL) and HV cable systems

• Lead and contribute to the design of HV infrastructure in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
• Interface directly with clients, stakeholders, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform regular site visits and inspections to ensure design implementation aligns with engineering intent.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across locations on a hybrid working model (minimum two days/week in office or on-site).

• MEng, BEng, or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering (accredited).
• Previous experience specifically in 400kV / extremely high voltage projects – experience at this voltage level is essential and not interchangeable with MV or LV systems.
• CDAE or LCDAE qualifications desirable but not mandatory; considered good indicators of experience
• TP141 registration will also be considered advantageous.
• Solid understanding of tier 1 & 2 contractors and the design & build environment, including practical construction knowledge.
• Proven track record in HV system design across energy and infrastructure sectors – especially electricity transmission and distribution.
