Lead E&I Engineer
Newcastle Upon Tyne
Salary: up to £65,000 basic + benefits
Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading engineering consultancy to bring a Lead E&I Engineer to take ownership of Electrical & Instrumentation delivery across complex engineering projects.
This is a permanent, full time on site role based in Newcastle.
Lead E&i Engineer Key Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of the E&I scope to agreed time, cost, and quality targets Provide technical and people leadership to E&I engineers and designers Own E&I engineering schedules, deliverables, and progress reporting Manage E&I manhour budgets, resourcing levels, and workload planning Ensure all E&I designs comply with legislation, industry standards, and client specifications Control and manage scope change in line with formal change management procedures Maintain technical integrity and accuracy across all E&I deliverables Participate in and contribute to HAZID, HAZOP, safety, and design reviews Provide guidance on hazardous area installations, including ATEX compliance Ensure all documentation is checked and approved in line with company procedures Support tendering activities, including scope definition and CTR Coach and develop Engineers, Graduates, and Trainees within the discipline
Lead E&I Engineer Key Requirements:
HNC or higher in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering Significant experience delivering E&I engineering on Oil & Gas brownfield projects (Feasibility, Concept, FEED, EPC) Proven experience leading E&I engineering teams on projects Strong working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and legislation Experience with manhour control, cost awareness, and change management Solid understanding of hazardous area design and ATEX directives Experience contributing to HAZOP, HAZID, and constructability reviews Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong commercial awareness and ability to operate at project leadership level
Desirable
Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering Chartered status (CEng / MIET) SIL experience Offshore experience and/or offshore survey exposure BOSIET certification
