I am exclusively partnered with an established building consultancy seeking an experienced Building Surveying Director to lead and grow a new regional office in Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester.
This role offers a unique opportunity for a high level Building Surveyor to build and lead their own office, supported by an existing consultancy-without the personal risk of setting up alone, while benefiting from a market leading salary and the opportunity to earn up to 20% equity in the business from the start. As Lead Director, you will take full responsibility for establishing and developing a new regional presence, using your own client relationships to bring work with you from any sector. You will have autonomy to shape the service offering, grow a team, and play a key role in the strategic direction of the firm. The consultancy works across a diverse portfolio of sectors, including:
- Government
- Healthcare
- Roads and infrastructure
- Education
Services include technical due diligence, condition surveys, and a range of project-related Building Surveying work, providing a strong platform for future growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead a new Building Surveying office
- Bring and develop client relationships across public and private sectors
- Deliver and oversee technical due diligence and project-led commissions
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and regional market presence
- Recruit, manage and mentor a high-performing Building Surveying team
- Represent the business at senior level with clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to the strategic growth of the wider consultancy

About You
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS)
- Currently operating at Director level with established clients
- Proven ability to win and deliver Building Surveying work through established client relationships
- Strong technical capability across due diligence and project delivery
- Commercially astute, entrepreneurial, and confident leading a regional office
- Motivated by long-term value creation and equity participation
