Lead Commercial Combined UnderwriterLocation London/ Essex (Minimum 1 day per week in Essex)Salary Circa £75,000IPS Group are working with a specialist insurance intermediary group to bring in a Lead Commercial Combined Underwriter - This opportunity is split across their London and Essex offices.The role The position centres on Underwriting Commercial Combined risks across the SME and mid-market sectors while driving profitable growth and strengthening broker relationships.The role involves managing new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments, ensuring decisions are technically accurate, consistent, and delivered with excellent broker service Premiums for this opportunity will typically range between £5,000 - £40,000.you will work closely with Underwriting, Product, and IT teams, as well as provide guidance and support to junior underwriters Although you are classed as a Lead Underwriter, there is no people management in this role.What you need The ideal person for this opportunity will be a vastly experienced Commercial Combined Underwriter with excellent technical knowledge across Property, Business Interruption, Liability Insurance.You will also have:Understanding of underwriting principles and risk selection.Knowledge of compliance and regulation.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Strong time-management abilitiesJBRP1_UKTJ
