Lead CMM Programmer / Senior Quality Inspector The Role
We’re recruiting for a Lead CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector to join a precision engineering company producing complex, high-spec components.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for a senior CMM programmer or quality inspector looking to take the next step. You’ll take ownership of inspection activities while remaining actively involved in CMM programming and quality control.
You’ll act as the go-to for inspection and quality on site, working closely with production and management to maintain the highest standards.
Lead CMM Programmer / Senior Quality Inspector Key ResponsibilitieS
* Programming CMM (all CMM software considered)
* Lead day-to-day inspection activities across the shop floor
* Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections
* Produce detailed inspection reports
* Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
* Analyse customer drawings/models to extract inspection data
* Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
* Work closely with production to resolve quality issues
* Maintain audit-ready documentation and quality records
Lead CMM Programmer / Senior Quality Inspector Requirements
* Proven experience as a CMM Programmer / Senior Quality Inspector
* Strong experience programming CMMs from scratch (essential)
* Solid understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances (GD&T)
* Experience leading or supporting inspection activities or teams
* Background in precision engineering / machining environments
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Confident communicator, able to liaise across teams
