Laser General Operative

Location: King’s Lynn Shift: Monday – Friday | 06:00 – 15:00 Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Requirements
* Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (not essential)
* Full UK Driving Licence (not essential)
* Previous warehouse or commercial experience preferred
Daily Operations
* Laser Bed Stripping: Efficiently remove cut metal parts and "skeletons" (scrap) from the laser beds immediately after the cutting cycle is complete.
* Part Sorting & Deburring: Accurately identify and sort parts according to job sheets or customer orders. Use basic hand tools to remove burrs or sharp edges as required.
* Material Handling: Assist operators in loading raw sheet metal onto the laser beds using overhead cranes, suction lifts, or forklifts (if licensed).
* Quality Control: Perform visual inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards, flagging any defects like dross, scratches, or incomplete cuts to the Operator.
* Waste Management: Clear scrap metal into designated recycling bins and ensure the work area remains free of hazards.
* Operator Support: Assist with machine lens cleaning, nozzle changes, and general maintenance tasks under the guidance of the Lead Operator.

Production Specific
* Responsible for delivery of quality products.
* Ensure that all re-cuts/missing parts are replaced and cause recorded
* Responsible for working alongside the operators providing support as required

* Regularly check for safety hazards and ensure issues are addressed promptly
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area
* Follow all company health & safety requirements
* Complete required equipment checks prior to use
* Actively participate in safety improvement initiatives
* Report unsafe practices by co-workers
* Immediately report all accidents, injuries, or safety incidents
