About the Role
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Senior School from April 2026. This full-time position is 5 days a week, 36 weeks per year, 8:00am–5:00pm, with job share considered for the right candidate. You will work closely with our Science Department, preparing materials for practical lessons, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up apparatus, materials, and chemical solutions for lessons and coursework.
Assist teachers with demonstrations and practical experiments.
Maintain laboratories, including microscopes, equipment, chemicals, and stock checks.
Carry out minor repairs or organise external repairs as needed.
Maintain Health & Safety documentation, risk assessments, and CLEAPSS compliance.
Support science clubs, displays, and enrichment activities.
Ensure a tidy, secure, and organised lab environment.
Person Specification

Science background with experience handling chemicals and lab equipment.
Strong organisational and practical skills.
Knowledge of laboratory Health & Safety requirements.
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Engaged, flexible, and collaborative team player with a professional approach.
Desirable: A-levels or a degree in a scientific discipline; previous school lab experience.
