Job Description
Socode are working with a Cambridge-based medical device company who are looking for a Contract Laboratory Technician to support their clinical testing team on a 3-month contract.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll be preparing biological tissue, setting up test rigs, keeping the lab organised and making sure everything runs safely and smoothly. It’s very much a sleeves-rolled-up position.
You’ll be based on-site in Cambridge 5 days per week.
What you’ll be doing
Preparing and handling animal tissue for testing
Setting up and clearing down lab test environments
Supporting engineers during structured test sessions
Maintaining lab cleanliness and hygiene standards
Managing day-to-day lab health & safety
Organising equipment, consumables and biological materials
What they’re looking for
Background in biomedical, bioengineering, mechanical engineering or similar
Hands-on lab experience (degree projects, internships or industry)
Comfortable working with biological tissues
Strong awareness of lab hygiene and safety
Practical, reliable and happy working on-site full-time
