KS1 Teaching Assistant – Tamworth

Contract: Until the end of the academic year (with potential extension)

Rate of pay: £92.63 - £100 per day

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join the school starting in May 2026. This is a full-time position running until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of continuing into the next academic year for the right candidate.
You will be supporting children across Key Stage 1, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities, provide targeted support, and help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Your role may include:
Supporting whole-class learning
Working with small groups or individual pupils
Assisting with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy
Helping to manage behaviour positively and consistently
Preparing resources and contributing to classroom organisation
Supporting pupils with additional needs where required

Preferred qualifications & experience:
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred)
Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
Understanding of KS1 curriculum and early learning development
Key skills of an effective Teaching Assistant:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
Ability to follow instructions and use initiative
Confidence supporting learning across different ability levels
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
