Job Description
Key Account Manager | Energy (I&C)
London
35 hours per week (core hours 10am–3pm)
Flexible working environment
Why this opportunity stands out
This is a chance to join a high-growth, independent energy supplier operating at the forefront of the UK’s Industrial & Commercial market.
You’ll work with some of the UK’s largest and most complex energy consumers, helping them navigate energy procurement, risk, and sustainability strategy.
The business offers:
- A highly collaborative, expert-led environment
- Genuine flexibility and autonomy in how you work
- Clear career progression within a growing, ambitious organisation
- Exposure to strategic, high-value accounts rather than volume sales
If you thrive in commercially driven roles where strategy, relationship management and market expertise intersect, this is a standout opportunity.
The role
As a Key Account Manager, you’ll take ownership of a portfolio of high-value energy clients, driving retention, growth, and long-term strategic partnerships.
You’ll operate at the centre of the commercial function, working closely with trading, operations, and finance teams to deliver tailored energy solutions.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing and growing major I&C energy accounts (50GWh+ consumption)
- Leading complex tender processes from enquiry through to deal close
- Structuring and negotiating commercial energy contracts
- Partnering with trading teams to build competitive pricing strategies
- Identifying and delivering upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients on market trends and risk
- Driving revenue growth through retention and account expansion
- Collaborating internally to ensure a seamless client experience end-to-end
What we’re looking for
This role requires a rare blend of commercial sharpness, technical energy knowledge, and relationship excellence.
Essential skills
- Highly commercial mindset with strong negotiation ability
- Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders
- Ability to translate complex energy concepts into clear client value
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Naturally driven, ambitious and results-focused
- A collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders
- Adaptable, fast learner with a growth mindset
Experience required
- Proven success in key account management or commercial roles
- Deep experience within the UK I&C energy market
- Strong understanding of flexible supply products and pricing mechanisms
- Track record of delivering revenue growth through retention and upselling
What makes you a great fit
You combine market expertise with commercial instinct and know how to build relationships that deliver real business impact.
You’re not just managing accounts — you’re driving strategy, influencing decisions, and creating value.
Why apply?
- Work with high-value, complex clients
- Join a forward-thinking energy business with real momentum
- Benefit from a flexible working culture
- Accelerate your career in a specialist, high-demand market
If you’re ready to take ownership of strategic accounts in a role where your expertise genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you.
