Overview
Our client is a fast-growing, global brand in the health, fitness, and sports nutrition sector, expanding rapidly across the UK. Reporting to the UK Head of Sales, the Key Account Manager will lead growth within the Gym & Independent channel, owning commercial performance across independent gyms, specialist sports nutrition retailers, and regional distribution partners.
This is a highly entrepreneurial, field-focused role with full ownership of sales results, distribution expansion, and promotional execution. Working closely with cross-functional partners, including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance. You will play a key role in scaling the brand’s presence within one of the UK’s fastest-growing channels.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and exceed revenue, profit, and distribution targets in line with UK growth plans.
- Manage, strengthen, and grow relationships with distribution partners, acting as the primary commercial contact.
- Expand distribution across specialist retailers and independent gym networks, driving sell-through via distributor partners.
- Build and execute a channel promotional calendar aligned with national strategy.
- Develop a structured contact plan, capturing customer interactions, competitor activity, and new business progress.
- Be field-based at least three days per week, visiting key accounts and prospective customers across the UK.
- Collaborate with Marketing to implement in-store activation, sampling programmes, and brand-building initiatives.
- Host sampling events in gyms and specialist stores to boost trial and awareness.
- Manage internal order processing and ensure smooth operational execution.
- Provide accurate forecasting inputs and support monthly S&OP processes with a focus on demand-planning accuracy.
- Track and report on sales performance, distribution growth, promotional ROI, and market opportunities.
- Represent our client at industry events, expos, competitions, and trade shows domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
- Experience in account management, field sales, or distribution within FMCG, sports nutrition, or related categories.
- Strong commercial mindset, motivated by achieving targets and owning channel performance end-to-end.
- Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships and grow accounts strategically.
- Highly organised with strong planning, reporting, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Solution-oriented approach with the ability to resolve customer challenges professionally.
- Industry knowledge in sports nutrition or fitness is beneficial but not essential.
- Passion for health, fitness, or sports is a must.
