We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our kitchen team as Junior Sous Chef.
The ideal Junior Sous Chef will have industry experience, be confident leading a team and will take responsibility alongside the Head Chef for the smooth delivery of the overall food operations within the hotel.
Job Duties for Junior Sous Chef
Assist the Head Chef/ Sous Chef in planning and directing food preparation activities.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen procedures.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and kitchen management.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
