As a Junior Sous Chef at Mad Swans in the South Downs, you ll play a key role in the kitchen leadership team and delivering exceptional food to our guests. This is a brand-new role in a brand-new opening so it s an exciting chance to grow with us, develop your skills, and be part of shaping something special. Assist in food preparation and collaborate with the Head Chef and the Sous Chef Work closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure the best service Offer suggestions, creative ideas, and ways to improve kitchen performance, menu options, and service. Oversee and supervise kitchen team Be a part of a kitchen environment that s positive, respectful, and high performing Maintain impeccable hygiene and food safety standards so that every dish meets guest expectations Help to complete weekly stock takes and manage orders, deliveries whilst ensuring all SOP s, recipe specifications, and procedures are followed through the use of Procure Wizard Report any Health & Safety issues, potential hazards, accidents or near misses to the Head Chef who will report them to Senior Management Team during the weekly H&S meeting This is a full-time permanent position and will work any five days out of seven. Earnings for this role are to £38,000/annum, including TRONC (Tips & Service Charge). Working Hours working 48 hours a week, shift times will vary throughout the week, and the kitchen operational times will be from 6.00 am to 11.00 pm. Working Days this role will work any five days out of seven and will involve working on weekends on a regular basis. We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef who is: Experienced and has previous experience in a Junior Sous Chef role Genuine passion for food, creativity and high standards Focused on the food quality, presentation and hygiene Ability to use kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, cookers, etc. Food Safety Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential Please note, you must be eligible to work in the UK as we are unable to sponsor any work permits or visas.
