Junior Mechanical Project Manager | M&E Building Services | Southampton Area | £45,000 £55,000 + Car or Car Allowance + BonusThis is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Junior Mechanical Project Manager to join a respected M&E Building Services contractor delivering mechanical installations across a wide range of commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial projects.Based just west of Southampton, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical building services installations.Their project portfolio includes mechanical packages such as plantrooms, heating and chilled water systems, ventilation, pipework, public health systems, and HVAC installations across both public and private sector developments.With a strong pipeline of work and continued business growth, they are now seeking to appoint a Junior Mechanical Project Manager who is keen to accelerate their development within a structured but hands-on project delivery environment.The RoleSalary is negotiable depending on experience within the advertised range.As Junior Mechanical Project Manager you will support experienced Project Managers and Contracts Managers in the delivery of mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion.The role offers excellent exposure to the full project lifecycle including procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover, providing an excellent platform for someone looking to progress into a fully-fledged Mechanical Project Manager position.You will initially assist with the delivery of projects while gradually taking responsibility for smaller mechanical installations as your experience develops.Projects range from smaller mechanical packages through to larger multi-million pound mechanical building services installations across the South Coast and surrounding areas.This is a hands-on role that will involve significant time on site working closely with engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure mechanical installations are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project programmes.Key ResponsibilitiesSupporting Project Managers and Contracts Managers in the delivery of mechanical building services projectsAssisting with procurement of mechanical plant, materials, and subcontract packagesCoordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered in line with programme requirementsSupporting project planning, coordination, and site progress reportingAssisting with the preparation and coordination of technical submissions and project documentationAttending site meetings and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractorsSupporting the commercial team with variations, valuations, and project cost reportingEnsuring mechanical works are delivered safely and in line with health and safety requirementsAbout YouExperience working within the Mechanical Building Services sector for an M&E contractor or mechanical contractorExperience working on mechanical installations such as HVAC systems, heating systems, chilled water systems, ventilation, pipework, plantrooms, and public health systemsPrevious experience in a supervisory, site management, or junior project management role within mechanical building servicesStrong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work closely with site teams and project stakeholdersKeen to learn and develop within a growing mechanical contractor environmentComfortable undertaking regular site visits and working across multiple project locationsThis role would suit candidates currently working as: Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Site Manager, Mechanical Foreman, Junior Mechanical Project Manager, Mechanical Engineer, HVAC Supervisor, or Mechanical Improver Project Manager.Remuneration Package Junior Mechanical Project Manager£45,000 £55,000 Company Car or Car Allowance Company Bonus Company Laptop and Mobile Pension Career ProgressionThis role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious mechanical building services professional to develop their career within a growing contractor environment, working alongside experienced Project Managers and Contracts Managers on a wide range of technically interesting projects.Next StepsPlease apply online today, or contact Rob at David Leslie Ltd for an informal and confidential discussion.About David Leslie LtdDavid Leslie Ltd is a family-run construction recruitment consultancy with over 20 years experience connecting professionals and employers across the UK.
