Junior Electrical Design Engineer\n\nLocation: Kingston Upon Thames\n\nSalary: £30,000 - £40,000 \n\nMy client is seeking a motivated Junior Electrical Design Engineer to support the growth of its mechanical and electrical division. This role provides hands-on involvement in all stages of electrical design, from early concept development to project completion. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will build practical skills and gain exposure to a wide range of engineering activities, with excellent opportunities for further training and progression toward professional accreditation.\n\nKey responsibilities:\n\nAssist in the design of electrical systems for major infrastructure projects, including low- and high-voltage systems, lighting, earthing, and associated components\nProduce feasibility studies, design calculations, and technical documentation\nSupport site surveys and contract administration activities\nUse industry-standard tools such as ETAP, Trimble, and Dialux for modelling and analysis\nWork collaboratively with senior engineers and multidisciplinary project teams to refine and develop design solutions\nContribute to the development of efficient, sustainable electrical engineering designs\nAdhere to internal quality, safety, and compliance procedures throughout all project stagesWhat we’re looking for:\n\nA degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services EngineeringNote: Degrees focused mainly on electronics, with limited electrical engineering content, are not suitable\n\nSolid understanding of core electrical design principles\nA minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role\nPractical experience is beneficial but not mandatory\nAbility to manage individual tasks effectively while contributing positively to team objectives\nKnowledge of electrical theory including distribution systems, lighting, and earthing\nFamiliarity with design software such as ETAP, Trimble, and Dialux\nStrong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving approach\nCommitment to ongoing learning and professional development\nGood communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders.\n\nBenefits\n\nCompetitive salary\nOffice-based role with flexible working arrangements available after probation\nPrivate healthcare and critical illness salary protection\n25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\nEnhanced pension scheme and sick pay\nEmployee Assistance Programme and a range of staff discounts\nTraining and professional development support\nAdditional benefits including staff events and complimentary refreshmentsInterested?\n\nApply today or reach out to Katie at Aztrum for a private and confidential conversation
