PE Global is currently recruiting for a Junior Design Engineer (Electrical/Electronic) for a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment based in Peterborough.\n\nThis is an initial 12 months contract position working on site 5 days a week.\n\nPay rate is £22.51ph PAYE or £33.85ph Umbrella.\n\nDuties of the role/Responsibilities\n• Create and maintain electrical designs using AutoCAD Electrical and Autodesk Vault.\n• Design electrical system layouts, schematics, and cable block diagrams.\n• Support the development of automotive wiring harnesses for engine test facilities.\n• Work from established design specifications with guidance from senior engineers.\n• Reference technical documentation to extract relevant electrical information.\n• Develop installation instructions and user documentation.\n• Participate in design review meetings and provide progress updates.\n• Prepare test documentation to facilitate harness quality checks.\n• Gain practical experience with loom and harness builds, including basic fault-finding tasks.\n\nEducation/Experience\n• 1-3 years of experience in electrical/electronic design\n• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or Autodesk Vault\n• Familiarity with PLM software, component creation, icon/footprint design, and library management\n• Knowledge of CE / UKCA compliance and harmonised standards\n• Willingness to learn about standards such as EN 60204, EN 12100, and BS 7671\n• Interest in automotive or industrial electrical systems\n• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others\n• Capability to manage multiple projects at various stages\n\nInterested candidates should submit an updated CV.\nPlease click the link below to apply.\n***Please note our client cannot assist with any visa sponsorship and candidates must have the correct visa to live and work in UK***\n\nAlthough it is not possible for us to respond to all applications, we at PE Global will do our upmost to give you feedback on your application.
