Purpose
Mange deals originating from Just Groups bespoke system (Beacon) to point of transaction including orderly handover to Transitions/Scheme Onboarding Team.
Develop and enhance long term relationships with Employee Benefit Consultants (EBCs), independent trustees and other market stakeholders such as lawyers and advisers, and help deliver sales for the Defined Benefits pension business through the relationships that have been developed with the EBC’s.
This would suit someone with some actuarial experience, looking to move into a more commercially orientated role.
Skills and Knowledge
- Good level of business acumen.
- Problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Ability to cope with conflict and crisis situations
- Capable of working collaboratively, effectively and understand resource implications/Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Open minded and willing to engage in challenge.
- Good degree of understanding of the products and services provided by the Group, the markets, and the regulatory / legal framework that the Group operates within.
- Knowledge of the DB de-risking market, pricing of DB liabilities and associated metrics, Annuity products and pricing systems, Solvency II capital requirements and Reinsurance arrangements.
- We require a proactive approach to integrating technology into daily tasks and processes
Experience
- Experience gained in the Life Insurance industry.
- Defined benefit experience and knowledge of current Pensions legislation.
- Experience in the bulk annuity market.
Job Role Accountabilities
- Build and manage long term relationships with EBCs that utilise the Beacon platform and other market stakeholders such as lawyers to drive sales and maintain/improve JR’s reputation in the DB market.
- Assist in delivery of the business plan to achieve the DB metrics, actively looking for opportunities to maximise profit.
- Lead on own pipeline schemes from quotation to transaction ensuring effective risk management of the legals, including obtaining the required approvals from the relevant individuals.
- Contribute to the detailed sales pipeline report and other MI as required and provide updates of pipeline to team meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Pricing, Transition and Operations, enabling strong process/working together are obtained.
- Assist in delivering suitable marketing materials (including scheme specific information) to ensure that they deliver the correct message in a coherent and compliant nature.
- Participate and where appropriate organise relevant marketing events for external clients.
- Attend relevant forums and meetings as required.
- Work with owner of Beacon Proposition to
- Promote proposition to external stakeholders (Trustees, EBCs, Administrators etc)
- Contribute to Bulk Platform triage process of potential projects
- Optimising Bulk Platform pricing strategy for projects you own
- Progressing projects from indicative quotations to orderly transactions
- Ensuring projects reach transitions team with the necessary information to proceed to BAU
- Contribute to Developing proposition to make more attractive to Just and those that use it
