Role Overview: As a Janitor, you will provide efficient janitorial services, including cleaning, portering, and basic maintenance tasks. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be key in creating a welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general portering duties: moving furniture, receiving deliveries, and managing waste disposal. Carry out a variety of cleaning tasks: from carpet shampooing to high-level cleaning, ensuring all areas are spotless. Undertake basic maintenance tasks: replacing light bulbs, fixing rails, and conducting minor repairs. Ensure safety by maintaining tools and equipment, and report any issues to your supervisor. Set up and break down rooms for seminars and events, making every occasion a success. Promote and comply with health and safety policies, ensuring a safe space for everyone.
What We're Looking For:
Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ 2 Caretaking, Health and Safety training) - Desirable. Previous experience as a janitor or porter in a large organisation - Desirable. Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment and materials - Essential. Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks - Essential. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
