On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for an Investment Bank Controls Officer - Assurance for an initial 6-month contract based in London. It is a hybrid model.

Purpose of the role:
To provide assurance that the Investment Bank's Non-Financial Risk (NFR) control framework is effective by testing the design and operation of Front Office controls, conducting detection tests, and leading scenario analysis and governance quality reviews.

What you'll do:

  • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) on design of Key Controls prior to Control Design Authority (CDA) meeting, by assessing whether the proposed control designs effectively mitigate the risk on a sustainable basis
  • Perform post CDA QA reviews to ensure controls have been implemented in line with approved design and are operating effectively
  • Assess whether a control needs to be brought to the CDA for approval
  • Guide Finding/Control Owners as to what an effective and sustainable control entails
  • Provide advice and training on control design principles
  • Support and oversee pre and post CDA QA reviews performed by the Assurance Team members in Mumbai
  • Perform design and operating effectiveness testing on FO owned controls included in the team's Assurance plan or on ad hoc basis
  • Conduct thorough assessments of remedial activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards

Candidate Profile: Skills & experience

  • Strong understanding of control design principles and Non-Financial Risk.
  • Extensive experience in Audit, Controls Testing, Assurance, or the Business Control Unit with in-depth knowledge of IB products
  • Effective communicator, who can write concisely, present effectively, and manage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Proactive and delivery focused with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Structured and meticulous with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications
