Interim Transport & Commercial Director\n\nSector: Waste & Recycling \n Contract: Interim | Strong day rate \n Location: Multi-site (regular travel required)\n\nThe Role\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Interim Transport & Commercial Director to drive immediate improvement across commercial performance, cost control, and transport operations within a multi-site waste and recycling business.\n\nThe role focuses on maximising commercial agreements, Transport operations performance and cost base management, not new business development. You will bring strong analytical capability, challenge established ways of working, and improve data-led decision making.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead commercial performance across feedstock, oil, and transport revenues\nIdentify and address cost base improvement opportunities, margin erosion, and inefficiencies\nOptimise fleet and logistics performance using data and analytics\nEmbed contribution margin analysis to assess waste profitability and site suitability\nImprove CRM and data consistency across commercial, finance, and operations\nLead and influence established teams through change and restructuring\nEnsure compliance with sustainability criteria and environmental permitting requirementsAbout You\n\nSenior commercial or operational leader from the waste and recycling sector - Essential \nStrong understanding of logistics, and transport within a waste and recycling environment \nHighly analytical, hands-on, and comfortable making difficult decisions\nCredible, visible leader willing to travel regularly between sites\nExperience operating in regulated, compliance-driven environmentsAdditional Information\n\nThis is a delivery-focused interim role created to drive immediate change.
