Role: Interim Procurement Manager - Business Services (Public Sector Procurement)
\n
Rate: £725 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
\n
Client: Major Public Sector Organisation
\n
Location: UK-Wide and Hybrid (2 days per week onsite )
\n
Duration: Initial 12 months (potential extension to 24 months)
\n

The Role:
\n
An Interim Procurement / Commercial Manager to support a major UK public sector organisation, leading complex procurement and contract management activity, within a high-impact commercial environment.
\n
\n
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping procurement strategy under the Procurement Act 2023, working on high-value, high-visibility programmes that drive real public value.
\n
\n
\n Lead end-to-end procurement activity, from early market engagement through to contract award and transition
\n
Develop sourcing strategies, tender documentation, and evaluation models
\n
Manage contract administration, including variations, change control, and performance mechanisms
\n
Ensure supplier performance aligns with commercial and operational expectations
\n
Collaborate across government departments to unlock commercial synergies
\n
Resolve supplier and stakeholder issues, managing risk and escalation effectively
\n
Contribute to the development of category strategies, tools, and best practices
\n
Ensure full compliance with public sector governance and procurement legislation
\n
\n
\n
Requirements:
\n
\n Strong experience delivering procurements in multiple, public sector environments
\n
Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) and wider procurement regulations
\n
Proven ability to manage procurements using a range of procedures
\n
Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
\n
Strong commercial judgement with evidence-based decision making
\n
Confident communicator (written and verbal)
\n
