Contract Management Accountant - 6 Months - Manufacturing

A leading manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join on an initial 6‑month contract. This role will provide hands-on financial support during a period of transition, helping strengthen reporting processes and support the wider finance team.

The Role

This is a hands‑on position suited to someone who can hit the ground running, support the month-end process, and partner with operational teams. While manufacturing experience is preferred it is not essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monthly reporting and management accounts preparation
• Elements of business partnering with production and engineering teams
• Supporting weekly P&L reporting and cashflow forecasting
• Helping implement and improve financial processes and procedures
• Supporting continuous improvement, particularly around an older SAP system
• Assisting the team in embedding new ways of working and driving efficiency

You'll work closely with senior finance stakeholders, including the Finance Director.

About You

• Qualification is not essential - experience is what matters
• Strong month‑end and reporting experience
• Manufacturing experience desirable but not essential
• Ability to work proactively and independently in a hands‑on environment
• Comfortable with process improvement and working with legacy systems
• Strong communicator and team player

What's on Offer

• £55,000 - £65,000 (equivalent for the contract duration)
• 6-month contract with potential to add real value quickly
• 37‑hour week with early finish on Fridays (leave at 12pm)
• On‑site role with some flexibility available
