Job Description

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will lead all financial aspects of the organisation, providing oversight of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, governance, and risk.

You will play a central role in strengthening financial processes, supporting strategic planning, and ensuring the organisation is well positioned for future growth and change.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial strategy and medium-term planning
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Provide financial advice to senior leadership and board stakeholders
  • Support due diligence, financial risk management, and organisational planning
  • Review and strengthen financial systems, controls, and processes
  • Lead and support the finance function
  • Contribute to wider operational planning, including estates, digital, and sustainability considerations

About You

You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) with significant senior finance leadership experience.

You will also bring:

  • Strong strategic and operational finance expertise
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and risk
  • Experience of leading teams and driving improvement
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a changing environment

Experience in education, public sector, not-for-profit
