Job Description
The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role requiring regular presence in Bridgwater or Bristol, with relocation support available. Candidates must be within commutable distance or willing to relocate.
You will support early-stage commissioning activities, focusing on readiness, coordination, and technical assurance.
Support preparation activities ensuring instrumentation systems are ready for commissioning execution
Provide technical input into calibration activities alongside technicians and specialist suppliers
Assist identification and assessment of spare parts requirements for commissioning phases
Review as-built installations against design documentation, supporting system handover processes
Contribute to development and review of commissioning procedures and test documentation
Coordinate commissioning and calibration activities with internal teams and external suppliers
Provide instrumentation expertise to mechanical and process teams during system troubleshooting
Identify risks, report issues, and support mitigation and resolution activities
Track progress of assigned commissioning tasks and maintain accurate status records
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient commissioning delivery
Qualifications
️ Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.
We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further, we would strongly encourage you to apply
Degree or HNC in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical or similar discipline
Experience in commissioning or pre-commissioning within regulated industrial environments
Strong understanding of PLC, DCS, and field instrumentation systems
Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control system documentation
Experience supporting calibration, testing, or system validation activities
Knowledge of commissioning processes, documentation, and quality requirements
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Understanding of safety requirements within complex, safety-critical environments
