Infrastructure Solutions Architect (Presales) | Salary: c£40k basic + company car + excellent bonus | Location: South Wales (Caerphilly base with some regional travel and hybrid working)
We have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Solutions Architect (Presales) to join a well-established and growing technology solutions provider supporting customers across Wales.
This is a newly created role within the organisation and offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical infrastructure background to move into a customer-facing presales role, working closely with Account Managers to design and deliver innovative IT solutions.
The position will involve working with a range of public sector organisations across Wales, while also supporting the growth of a developing private sector customer base. We are keen to hear from candidates currently working as Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Infrastructure Architect, Technical Architect, Presales Consultant, IT Manager, Head of Infrastructure or Data Centre Manager.
Candidates with strong infrastructure backgrounds who are interested in transitioning into a presales or solutions architecture role are encouraged to apply. The role offers excellent scope for career progression into a senior solutions architecture or technical leadership position as the regional business continues to grow.
Infrastructure Solutions Architect experience requirements
Strong technical background in enterprise infrastructure environments including servers, storage and networking
Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V and Microsoft server technologies
Knowledge of cloud technologies including Azure, AWS or hybrid infrastructure environments
Enterprise networking experience including technologies from vendors such as Cisco or Aruba
Experience designing or supporting infrastructure solutions within complex IT environments
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience supporting technical sales engagements or presales activity would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates with strong infrastructure backgrounds
The role
Supporting Account Managers throughout the technical sales lifecycle, helping to design and present infrastructure solutions that meet customer requirements
Working closely with customers to understand business challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions
Designing infrastructure solutions across datacentre, networking, virtualisation and cloud environments
Providing technical input into RFPs, RFQs and tender responses, particularly within public sector procurement processes
Delivering technical presentations, workshops and demonstrations to customer stakeholders
Collaborating with leading technology vendors including Cisco, Aruba, Lenovo and Microsoft to develop customer solutions
Supporting the continued growth of both public sector and private sector accounts across Wales
