What you'll be doing:

  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of current applications and their architecture
  • Collaborating with product owners to gather and document requirements
  • Breaking down requirements into features and user stories within JIRA
  • Rewriting applications to meet current development standards, focusing on security and performance
  • Managing version control within development environments
  • Participating in Agile sprints, including planning, demos, and stakeholder updates
  • Updating documentation to reflect ongoing progress and changes
What you'll bring:
  • Strong software engineering background, with experience in TypeScript and React
  • Proven ability to understand and improve existing applications
  • Experience capturing and translating requirements into actionable features/stories
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint ceremonies
  • Excellent communication skills for regular demos and stakeholder engagement
  • Security-conscious mindset with a focus on application efficiency
Mandatory Skills:
  • Experience with TypeScript / React / NodeJS
  • Ability to understand and work with current application codebases
  • Strong documentation and requirement capture skills
  • Agile working experience
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of application security best practices
  • Experience with version control systems and dev environments
  • Previous work on application re-writes or modernisation projects
Required Education:
  • Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience in software engineering or IT
