We’re Hiring: Infrastructure Engineer (Virtualisation) – London (Hybrid)

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Virtualisation) to design, build, and manage virtualisation platforms that ensure resilience, security, and scalability for critical business services.

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

What You’ll Do

Engineer, operate, and continuously improve virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V). Manage platform lifecycle: patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and hardware refreshes. Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness. Automate infrastructure provisioning and standardise virtualisation builds. Troubleshoot complex incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions. Maintain compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across storage, networking, OS, cloud, and applications.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

Hands-on experience with enterprise virtualisation platforms(VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter or Hyper-V). Background in infrastructure engineering or platform operations in enterprise environments. Expertise in platform upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Solid understanding of server hardware, storage integration, and enterprise networking. Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change).

Desirable Skills:

Experience in financial services or regulated environments. Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python) and Infrastructure as Code. Familiarity with hybrid cloud integration and container workloads. Participation in disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.

Strong sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to work effectively in global, multi-disciplinary teams. Clear communicator, able to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and risk reduction.
