Job Description
Infrastructure Engineer (Contract)
Contract Length : 6 Months
Location
Barnoldswick, Lancashire
Hybrid working - 3 days onsite per week (days may vary and are not guaranteed to be consecutive)
Outside IR35
Start Date: Immediate

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team on a 6-month contract. This role will play a key part in infrastructure modernisation, including server migrations, hypervisor platform management, and endpoint management across a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will also provide technical support and mentorship within the wider IT function.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Virtualisation
\n
\n
Lead and support server migrations and upgrades
\n
Manage and support VMware and Nutanix hypervisor platforms
\n
Deliver and manage a hypervisor migration to Nutanix
\n
\n
Endpoint & Management
\n
\n
Administration and support of Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, and Entra ID
\n
Device provisioning and lifecycle management
\n
\n
Networking & Security
\n
\n
Implement and support network segmentation concepts such as VLANs
\n
\n
\n\n
Required Skills & Experience
\n
\n
Strong experience in hybrid cloud infrastructure and system administration
\n
Proven hands-on experience with VMware and Nutanix virtualisation technologies
\n
Solid background in Windows Server migrations and upgrades
\n
Experience implementing and maintaining network security
\n
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
\n
\n\n
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
\n
\n
Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP, NCA, NCP, CCNA, or equivalent
\n
Previous experience in enterprise IT and hybrid cloud environments
\n
\n
Experience working within structured IT teams and change-controlled environments
