Morson Edge are recruiting for a Industrial sewing machinist/Trainee Sail Maker to join thier clients team in Devonport, Plymouth.This is a hands-on role within a safety-critical, industrial environment, with full training provided and the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications.Main DutiesManufacture and fit radiological containment materialsProduce protective weather screens and coversManufacture soft furnishings and fabric-based productsProduce gaskets using materials such as rubber, Sentinel and ThermiculiteWork as part of a team and support day-to-day operationsAssist with problem solving on tasks as requiredFollow health and safety procedures at all timesRequirementsWillingness to work in a safety-critical environment, including occasional work in radiological areasFlexible approach to shift work and overtimeGood team working and communication skillsA practical mindset and willingness to learnExperience with textiles or fabrics would be beneficial but not essentialQualificationsGCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathsAdditional Information£19.36 per hour (PAYE), 35 std hours a week, Shift work and overtime will be a requirement for this role6 month initial contractTraining provided, with progression linked to NVQ Level 2 and 3Opportunity to gain experience in a specialist manufacturing environmentSecurity ClearanceSuccessful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain clearanceJBRP1_UKTJ
