Industrial Refrigeration Service Engineer

We are working with a well-established engineering and industrial services organisation who are looking to appoint an experienced Service Technician / Refrigeration Engineer to join their service team covering Scotland and surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair and commissioning of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while delivering a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities

Service, maintenance, repair and commissioning of refrigeration, air conditioning and process plant equipment
*
Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on commercial and industrial systems
*
Carry out installation and commissioning work on site
*
Produce clear technical reports and job sheets following service visits
*
Maintain regular communication with customers and internal service teams
*
Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and company standards
*
Provide on-site support and guidance to junior engineers and apprentices when required
*
Identify potential future work opportunities with customers
*
Work as part of an on-call rota and travel to customer sites as required
Candidate Requirements
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Service Engineer within refrigeration / HVAC / industrial cooling
*
Experience working on large commercial or industrial refrigeration systems
*
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical fault finding
*
Experience working with piston, screw or centrifugal compressors
*
Experience with HCFC, HFC or NH3 refrigerants (CO2 / HC desirable)
*
Understanding of relevant health & safety and environmental regulations
*
Experience with PLC / control systems and instrumentation
*
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
*
Flexible approach to travel, overtime and call-out rota

C&G F-Gas 2079
*
Safe Handling of Ammonia (desirable)
*
Relevant engineering qualification (desirable)
