Industrial Refrigeration Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia and CO2).
- Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including handling of refrigerants.
- Provide mobile support across multiple sites, responding to service calls and emergencies, and be a part of the Call-Out Rota.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Document work performed, prepare service reports, and communicate findings to clients and management.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to implement improvements.
- Train and support junior engineers or apprentices when required.
- Compressor Overhauls.
- Maintain proper communication with customer.
Required
- C&G Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience working with Ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration principles, controls, and safety practices.
- Valid F-Gas certification and ammonia handling training.
- Full UK driving licence (mobile role with travel required across UK but mainly local).
Preferred Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with team and customers.
- Experience in food production, cold storage, or industrial facilities.
- Knowledge of PLCs, automation, and energy efficiency measures.
- Certifications - e.g., City & Guilds, Safe Handling of Ammonia, CO2, F Gas, Electrical Testing and Safety Certificate, IPAF, PLASMA.
- Additional Certifications Asbestos Awareness, Ladder Card, CSCS Card.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varied environments.
