Job Description

Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading provider of uninterruptible power supplies and generator solutions to recruit an Industrial Electrical Technician for its UK-wide service team.\n\nThe strategically important Industrial Electrical Technician role comes with a salary of £38,000-£45,000 (depending on experience), company van, pension, overtime opportunities, door-to-door pay, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.\n\nIf you're an Industrial Electrical Technician looking to work for an organisation that values expertise, integrity, and long-term development, then submit your CV to apply today.\n\nResponsibilities and duties of the Industrial Electrical Technician role\n\nReporting to the Service Manager you will:\n\nAttend customer sites for planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing, and repairs on UPS systems, batteries, switchgear, control systems, and associated equipment.\n\nCarry out load bank testing, site surveys, and inspections of standby power equipment.\n\nInstall and commission UPS and battery systems, as well as support wider installation projects.\nPerform battery impedance testing and replacements.\nProvide breakdown response, diagnosis, and resolution for critical power systems.\nSupervise electricians and apprentices on-site during installation and maintenance.\nAssist the sales team with technical estimates for quotations.\nSupport project managers in delivering contracts on time and within budget.\nTrain junior engineers in UPS maintenance and safe operation.\nIdentify and report additional work opportunities during site visits.\nComplete electrical testing and associated documentation. \n\nProfessional qualifications\n\nWe are looking for someone with the following:\n\nElectrical Engineering qualifications (18th Edition or equivalent).\nProven experience in UPS servicing and installation.\nKnowledge of generator control systems (desirable).\nCommissioning and switchgear experience (desirable).\nCSCS / ECS card.\nFull UK Driving Licence.\nWillingness to travel nationally and stay away when required (expenses paid). \n\nPersonal skills\n\nThe Industrial Electrical Technician role would suit someone who is:\n\nTechnically skilled with strong problem-solving abilities.\nConfident in supervising others and providing guidance.\nAble to work independently and within a team.\nFlexible and prepared to travel to support customer needs.\nStrong in communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, engineers, and sales teams.
