INDUSTRIAL AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Production Engineering department for an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer.
As an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a strategic role within cross-functional teams, enabling the smooth integration of new product innovations into full-scale manufacturing. You will spearhead initiatives that drive process optimisation, maximise operational efficiency across manufacturing.
Responsibilities include:
* Partner with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new products.
* Provide input on design for assembly (DFA) and design for manufacturability (DFM) to reduce complexity and improve production efficiency.
* Develop/Maintain standard labour times and process documentation to support financial planning, ERP integration, and capacity modelling.
* Support pilot builds and ramp-up activities for new product introductions, including SOP creation and training materials.
* Design/Refine factory layouts and material flow strategies to improve safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with Facilities and Automation teams to plan and implement equipment upgrades, automation solutions, and smart manufacturing technologies.
* Analyse production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis, Kaizen, and statistical process control (SPC).
* Champion best practices in work-study, time measurement, and performance auditing.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across engineering activities.
Key Requirements:
* Proficiency in production analysis tools.
* Hands-on experience with process improvement tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
* Formal qualifications in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, acting quickly with integrity.
* Collaborative and a good team player, determined to overcome obstacles.
* Works well under pressure and engages at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally.
