Indirect Tax Senior Manager

We’re working with a specialist financial services organisation operating across multiple international markets. Due to increased complexity in its operating model and regulatory environment, our client is seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to join the team on a 12‑month fixed term contract.

This role reports into a senior indirect tax lead and focuses on providing both technical advisory support and oversight of indirect tax compliance across the group’s activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide indirect tax advice to the business on a range of matters including cross‑border transactions, restructurings, place of supply and partial exemption
  • Assess the indirect tax impact of new products, systems and operational changes
  • Track relevant legislative developments and communicate implications to key stakeholders
  • Support interactions with tax authorities, including audits and enquiries
  • Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters
  • Liaise with external advisors where specialist input is required
  • Oversee the review and submission of UK, EU and other international indirect tax returns
  • Enhance indirect tax governance, controls and documentation
  • Work with colleagues and third parties on data extraction, validation and reconciliation
  • Manage outsourced compliance providers and ensure filing deadlines are met
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process and technology enhancements

Requirements

  • Strong technical background in indirect tax, ideally with exposure to complex and cross‑border issues
  • Comfortable operating as an adviser to the business, not solely in a review capacity
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Commercially minded, with a practical approach to problem‑solving
